Layout Styles

A Layout-Style defines the layout of a Sub-Department: the arrangement of workstations, the placement and type of applications, as well as the appearance and width of corridors.

The Layout-Styles are defined in the Settings or via an imported xls-file. Each change has global effects. You assign the Layout-Styles to Departments in Settings under Corporate Data or in the Flyout-Menu. By changing values or setting of the Layout-Style of the selected Department in the Flyout-Menu, the assigned Layout-Style automatically changes to “Custom”.

Style name

Each layout pattern applied to the departments of any floor plan has a specific style name. These names are displayed in the Flyout-Menu and can either be changed using a xls-file or directly in the Settings under Layout-Styles.

Circulation

The circulation determines the style of the corridor of each department. You can choose between single (left) or double (right) corridors. If you change the circulation, you must confirm it before CoDesigner considers it. If you have selected “double” as the corridor circulation, you can define the distance between them by the Central Zone Depth.

Central Zone Depth

The Central Zone Depth is the width between the two corridors in a double corridor circulation Layout-Style. The depth can be defined either globally in Settings or individually for every Department in the Flyout-Menu.

Corridor Width

The corridor width defines the size of a corridor in the layout of a department. It can be edited either via the Flyout-Menu or the Toolbox. To open the Toolbox, right-click on the corridor itself and then on the edit icon to open the dialog where you can adjust the width.

Double Applications

“Double Application” is a function within the Layout-Styles that can be activated in the Flyout-Menu and in the settings. It may/may not allows CoDesigner to place twice the number of applications of the same type within a department.
